Chicago is apparently working on creating a 140,000 acre park on the far southeast side of the city. For comparison, Lincoln Park is 1,200 acres and Central Park in NYC is 843 acres. If completed, it will be the largest urban park in the lower 48.
And yes, I thought I mistyped, but no. One hundred and fourty thousand acres.
